Episode 4

Play episode

It’s the end of the month. Your new shiny application has been running the cloud. Customers are happy, the performance seems great. What could possibly go wrong?

When building an app in the cloud, cost might not be the first thing you consider, but it cannot be the last. So let’s talk about optimizing cloud for performance and cost, a.k.a how I learned to keep customers and finance happy without going insane.

My guest is Iris Classon, a developer and Microsoft MVP at Konstrukt.

We talk about building an app in Azure, learning some costly lessons about pay-as-you-go, and when to move an application to another platform.

Cost Management Tips:

  1. Monitor your costs with subscriptions and tagging
  2. Use the right service based on your requirements
  3. If you don’t use it, delete it!
